Are BlackSmith strings any good?

Here at Greenchords, we think so! While BlackSmith strings are fairly new to the market, parent company DHP has been around since 1984 as the number one fret wire manufacturer in the world! If you have a guitar by Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, Yamaha, Larrivee, Godin, Jackson, Charvel, ESP, Schecter, Samick or Cort, chances are you´ve got some fret wires made by DHP!

So where are BlackSmith strings made?

BlackSmith strings are made in South Korea, absolute experts in technology and engineering. BlackSmith strings are the product of years of research and professional player testing. Engineers analysed strings from well known brands and then got to work on designing BlackSmith´s proprietary computer controlled servo-drive machines that virtually eliminate core wire vibration during the winding process. The result is acoustic, classical, electric and bass guitar strings with unparalleled consistency in feel and tension, along with accurate intonation and tuning stability.

The acoustic and electric sets include sub zero treated plain strings - cryogenic treatment means the strings are frozen to change the molecular structure of the steel, minimising gaps. This results in a more balanced feel and tone across the whole set of strings.

What are BlackSmith strings made of?

BlackSmith strings are manufactured using quality US made steel, nickel and bronze metals. Combined with the advanced technology outlined above, BlackSmith strings deliver the ultimate in tone, playability, intonation, sustain, and tuning stability, at affordable prices. Ready to give them a go?

What makes BlackSmith strings special?

As mentioned earlier, BlackSmith strings are the result of world class materials - including US metals - precision engineering, and cutting edge manufacturing technology, including the proprietary computer controlled servo driven winding technology. This makes them durable and great to play.

But the superb quality doesn´t stop with the strings. BlackSmith guitar, bass and ukulele strings also come on individual anti-kink disks - which double as beer coasters - and US patented vacuum sealed packaging. This means that your strings will arrive in perfect condition and as fresh as the day they were packed!
